I Pray to Purify Myself: God Does Not Need

“Do people think they will be left alone after saying ‘We believe’ without being put to the test?  We tested those who went before them: God will certainly mark out which ones are truthful, and which are lying.  Do the evildoers think they can escape us? How ill they judge! But as for those who strive for their meeting with God, God’s appointed time is bound to come; He is the All Seeing, the All Knowing.  Those who exert themselves do so for their own benefit––God does not need His creatures––We shall certainly blot out the misdeeds of those who believe and do good deeds, and We shall reward them according to the best of their actions.  We have commanded people to be good to their parents, but do not obey them if they strive to make you serve, beside Me, anything of which you have no knowledge: you will all return to Me, and I shall inform you of what you have done.  We shall be sure to admit those who believe and do good deeds to the ranks of the righteous.” (29:3-9)

آیا مردم پنداشته اند که چون بگویند: ایمان آوردیم، رها شوند و دیگر آزمایش نشوند؟

 وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِینَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلَیَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِینَ صَدَقُوا وَلَیَعْلَمَنَّ الْکَاذِبِینَ ( 3(

هر آینه مردمی را که پیش از آنها بودند آزمودیم، تا خدا کسانی را که راست گفته اند معلوم دارد و دروغگویان را متمایز

گرداند.

 أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِینَ یَعْمَلُونَ السَّیِّئَاتِ أَن یَسْبِقُونَا سَاءَ مَا یَحْکُمُونَ ( 4(

آیا آنان که مرتکب گناه می شوند پنداشته اند که از ما می گریزند؟ چه بد داوري می کنند.

 مَن کَانَ یَرْجُو لِقَاءَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لَآتٍ وَهُوَ السَّمِیعُ الْعَلِیمُ ( 5(

هر کس که به دیدار خدا امید می دارد بداند که وعده خدا آمدنی است و او شنوا و داناست.

 وَمَن جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا یُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِیٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِینَ ( 6(

هر که جهاد کند به سود خود کرده است، زیرا خدا از همه جهانیان بی نیاز است.

وَالَّذِینَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُکَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَیِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِیَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي کَانُوا یَعْمَلُونَ ( 7(

گناهان آنان را که ایمان آوردند و کارهاي شایسته کردند، می زداییم و بهتر از آنچه عمل کرده اند پاداششان می دهیم.

وَوَصَّیْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَیْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِی مَا لَیْسَ لَکَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا إِلَیَّ مَرْجِعُکُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُکُم بِمَا کُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

به آدمی سفارش کردیم که به پدر و مادر خود نیکی کند. و اگر آن دو بکوشند که تو چیزي را که بدان آگاه نیستی شریک

من قرار دهی، اطاعتشان مکن. بازگشت همه شما به سوي من است و شما را به کارهایی که می کرده اید آگاه می کنم.

 وَالَّذِینَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِی الصَّالِحِینَ ( 9(

کسانی را که ایمان آوردند و کردارهاي شایسته کردند در زمره صالحان در آوریم.

“[Prophet], recite what has been revealed to you of the Scripture; keep up the prayer: prayer restrains outrageous and unacceptable behavior. Remembering God is greater: God knows everything you are doing. [Believers], argue only in the best way with the People of the Book, except with those of them who act unjustly. Say, ‘We believe in what was revealed to us and in what was revealed to you; our God and your God are one; we are devoted to Him.’  This is the way We sent the Scripture to you [Muhammad].  Those to whom We had already given Scripture believe in [the Quran] and so do some of these people. No one refuses to acknowledge Our revelations but the defiant.” (29:45-47)

خَلَقَ اللَّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ إِنَّ فِی ذَلِکَ لَآیَهً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِینَ ( 44

خدا آسمانها و زمین را به راستی بیافرید و در این عبرتی است براي مؤمنان.

اتْلُ مَا أُوحِیَ إِلَیْکَ مِنَ الْکِتَابِ وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاهَ إِنَّ الصَّلَاهَ تَنْهَی عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنکَرِ وَلَذِکْرُ اللَّهِ أَکْبَرُ وَاللَّهُ یَعْلَمُ مَا تَصْنَعُونَ ( 45

هر چه را از این کتاب بر تو وحی شده است تلاوت کن. و نماز بگزار، که نماز آدمی را از فحشا و منکر باز می دارد و ذکر خدا بزرگ تر است و خدا به کارهایی که می کنید آگاه است.

You never recited any Scripture before We revealed this one to you; you never wrote one down with your hand. If you had done so, those who follow falsehood might have had cause to doubt. But no, [this Quran] is a revelation that is clear to the hearts of those endowed with knowledge. No one refuses to acknowledge Our revelations but the evildoers. They say, ‘Why have no miracles been sent to him by his Lord?’ Say, ‘Miracles lie in God’s hands; I am simply here to warn you plainly.’ Do they not think it is enough that We have sent down to you the Scripture that is recited to them? There is a mercy in this and a lesson for believing people. Say, ‘God is sufficient witness between me and you: He knows what is in the heavens and earth. Those who believe in false deities and deny God will be the losers.’” (29:48-52
